Books, Books, and MORE Books!  The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair was clearly not lacking any books.  We walked for hours just to get through the different sections, and we didn't even really stop to look at half of the different booths.  We easily could have spent another day wandering (and chasing Trevor) up and down the aisles.  There were Authors, Publishers, Distributors, and Merchants representing MANY countries on hand to sell, entertain, host, and just talk to any one even remotely interested in what they were representing.  Back to the hosting part;  as we walked in we were greeted and invited into the 2012 award winners booth and presented with dates and Arabic coffee.(Not bad even if we didn't start out too fond of coffee or dates)  As we continued on we were continuously offered coffee, dates, and chocolates...for a moment there I would have sworn we had wandered into Costco on a Friday afternoon--nothing better than a FREE snack!!  Had I known there was going to be so much free food I wouldn't have circled the first booth offering chocolates three times before moving on!(The chocolates rival ANY See's Candy or Godiva, or Rocky Mountain C.F. or the best chocolate you have ever had!)  The venue was extraordinary and obviously just a few years old.  On your next trip to Abu Dhabi check out what's going on at the Exhibition Center, most of the exhibits are free and even if your not interested in the display the venue and two hotels attached to it are well worth the effort!
